Political parties have become family enterprises and India’s future is in the hands of 40 to 50 such families with the capacity for rabble-rousing, rapaciousness and greed.The recent finding by Patrick French (India: A Portrait) is that more than two-thirds of the under-40 members of the Lok Sabha are hereditary and many of them are hyper-hereditary, based on their dynasty. Actually many of us forget that since 1885, members of the Motilal Nehru family have presided over the Congress party for 39 of its 125 years. Motilal Nehru was president for two years, Jawaharlal Nehru for nine, Indira Gandhi for eight, and Rajiv Gandhi for seven. Sonia Gandhi holds the record both within the dynasty and the party by having the longest, unbroken tenure of 13 years and is still going strong.

The party has become a family enterprise and a non-family man like Narasimha Rao is not even recognised as a former prime minster. Following this tradition, we have Agatha Sangma from Megahalya to Omar Abdullah in Jammu and Kashmir to MK Alagiri in Tamil Nadu, inheriting the political throne.

The important point here is not about the national agenda of these political parties but their functioning and control. Whether it is DMK or the Shiv Sena, where the family battles have come out in open, or the NCP, where the heir apparent has been anointed — the issue is the family business called political parties. It is important to mention that Tamil Nadu is a pioneer of this model wherein the interests of the state, party, government, and people are subsumed for the welfare of the family enterprise.

Like in all businesses, it is required to delineate the nature of the business model adopted by these family enterprises. In any business, particularly listed business, the shareholders’ wealth maximisation is the main objective. Unfortunately, these regional parties are not listed on the stock exchanges and hence the correct market valuation may not be available. But the total wealth declared by these leaders (including that of their multiple wives!) during election time in the form of affidavits can be a guide for the net worth of the enterprise.

The preliminary expenses here are related to rabble-rousing on caste or language or pro-poor issues. Another method is to promise largesse in the form of free electricity, free TV, free cinema, free rice, to be paid for by the state exchequer. In this model, the actual business entity need not worry about expenses since post-power, there will be a continuous revenue stream.

The family business has to be conducted through various functional departments called commerce, agriculture, irrigation, roadways, education, power, and so on. Some are low-volume, high-margin centres like land allotment or CWG or 2G spectrum, where one project can earn up to thousands of crores. Other business units, like elementary education, which is a large-scale transfer industry, are low-margin but high-volume business. Every teacher transferred may provide only thousands of rupees, but the numbers are large. The family also needs to take care of the interests of other families (sub-regional or other caste parties), hence the creation of strategic business units. In this model, the expenses are borne by the government but revenues are enjoyed by the family. It is a win-win model that does not have any comparable international example.

The time-frame for maximising the family wealth is specified after one election and that differentiates it from the other regular business models. Due to the short time span, the family can and does become rapacious and they need continuous extraction of higher bribes to meet their collective greed. The turnover and attrition among supporters is also high, since their aspirations also grow. Hence, the need to create powerful entry barriers as well as exit costs.

But if you or your children opt out of politics, then you cannot be a "dacoit capitalist" anymore since your ability to formulate policies is gone and there could even be vendetta by the current rulers. So make sure your son/daughter/wives/sambandhis (children’s in-laws) are in some business unit or the other.

Will this business model meet its nemesis? Not for some years yet. One reason it will flourish is the increasing importance of land as a factor of production. In the 60s, capital was scare and land was easily allotted. Now capital is available, even from global sources, but land is scarce and that is the strength of these families. Control of land and its allotment is the primary sonrise (pun intended!) industry. To that extent, the family business will flourish.

With further fragmentation, many family enterprises will be either in a merger and acquisition mode or in a small business-smaller reach mode. In such situation, some can go sick. Second, due to the greed of some of these families, the margins demanded from projects may exceed the cost of the project.

The future of India is ironically linked with these 40-50 families with their capacity for rabble-rousing along and their rapaciousness and greed. Let us celebrate our grass-root democracy that enhances such "family values".

As you see, ToI alone has produced daily 2/3 articles bashing Modi and discrediting Vastanvi .If you include other news articles it comes to more than 70 articles since last 3 days. The ultimate objective is either Maulana Vastanvi goes back on his statement or resigns from his post so that Modi can be put back to the same media space reserved for him. Interestingly, the left-liberal visual media ignored this news as doing it may take maulavi’s message to a much larger audience. Better to hide what can not be defended easily.

The most astonishing thing is all this is happening when Modi made no attempt to use Vastanvi’s endorsement to his advantage. In fact Modi has always shown grace dealing with media , advocated the importance of media in a democracy and the constructive role media can play in India.If Modi speaks to media they say he is brash and ugly, If he does not they say he has no remorse. Same media that does not dare to write a single word against Gandhi family calls Modi Hitler, Nero, mass-murderer, rabble-rouser, shrill, communal, anti-muslim, megalomaniac, autocrat in the most brazen way and if anyone challenges this notion be it Amitabh Bachan or maulana Vastanvi media goes after them with vengeance.

When modi speaks about 10% growth,knowledge economy,science,green energy, agriculture modernization, waste mangement, smart cities, infrastructure etc. our media writes about 2002 Godhra, 2002 Godhra and 2002 Godhra. It seems as if the career of a media person is directly proportional to number of anti-Modi projects he/she has undertaken.

In my earlier post I had reflected upon “Why do they hate narendra Modi” and I am totally convinced that even if all the Muslims of Gujarat praise Modi’s development policy, the media will still retain Modi’s status-quo.

Question is what is the objective of the media? The ominous objective is to keep Narendra Modi away from national politics so that the prince can occupy the throne unchallenged.

The strategy to achieve this objective is to create an impression that Modi is not acceptable outside Gujarat so that he will face enough resistance within BJP, from its allies , from the Congress and from the media.

The tool to implement this strategy is to maintain the
communal,anti-muslim image of Modi. Sonia- led Congress has outsourced this task to CBI, media, ATS, NGOs, the self-proclaimed activists and “civil-society”.

Rather than defeating Congress, the real challenge in front of Modi is how to fight all these external agents to lead BJP at the national level. I hope the central BJP leaders will also realize that in Modi the future lies (For the party and the country) and help Modi with all the support he requires. Modi deserves JUSTICE from all the
canards,slanders,abuses and untouchability he had faces in past 8 years.

P.S. : The day India gets governance in stead of government , India will also get the true 4th pillar of democracy in stead of news manufacturer and brokers.

स्वदेशी के प्रखर प्रवक्ता, चिंतक, जुझारू, निर्भीक व सत्य को दृढ़ता से रखने के लिए पहचाने जाने वाले भाई राजीव दीक्षित जी 30 नवम्बर 2010 को भिलाई (छत्तीसगढ़) में शहीद हो गए | वे भारत स्वाभिमान और आज के स्वदेशी आंदोलन के पहले शहीद है| राजीव भाई भारत स्वाभिमान यात्रा के अंतर्गत छत्तीसगढ़ प्रवास पर थे | यह परमात्मा का अजीब संयोग ही कहा जायेगा कि श्री राजीव जी का जन्म 30 नवम्बर 1967 को रात्रि 12:20 पर हुआ था और उनका देहावसान भी 30 नवम्बर 2010 को रात्रि 12 बजे के बाद ही हुआ। 1 दिसम्बर 2010 को अंतिम दर्शन के लिए उनको पतंजलि योगपीठ में रखा गया था| राजीव भाई के अनुज प्रदीप दीक्षित और परम पूज्य स्वामी रामदेव जी ने उन्हे मुखाग्नि दी| परमपूज्य स्वामी रामदेव जी महाराज व आचार्य बालकृष्ण जी ने राजीव भाई के निधन पर गहरा दुःख वयक्त किया है| सम्पूर्ण देश में 1 दिसम्बर को दोपहर 3 बजे श्रद्धांजलि सभा का आयोजन किया गया|

स्वदेशी के प्रखर प्रवक्ता एवं भारत स्वाभिमान के राष्ट्रीय सचिव भाई राजीव दीक्षित जी का जन्म उप्र अलीगढ़ जनपद के अनरौली तहलीस के नाह गांव में तीस नवम्बर 1967 में हुआ । राजीव जी की इण्टरमीडिएट तक की शिक्षा ग्रामीण परिवेश में हुई । राधेश्याम दीक्षित के घर में जन्मे श्री राजीव जी का अधिकांश समय वर्धा में व्यतीत हुआ। राजीव भाई के जीवन में सरलता और नम्रता थी। वे संयमी, सदाचारी ब्रह्मचारी तथा बलिदानी थे। वे निरन्तर साधना की जिन्दगी जीते थे। 1999 में राजीव जी के स्वदेशी व्याख्यानों की कैसेटों ने देश में धूम मचा दी थी। पिछले कुछ महीनों से वे लगातार गाँव गाँव शहर शहर घूमकर भारत के उत्थान के लिए और देश विरोधी ताकतों और भ्रष्टाचारियों को पराजित करने के लिए जन जाग्रति पैदा कर रहे थे.

राजीव भाई पिछले 20 वर्षों से बहुराष्ट्रीय कंपनियों और बहुराष्ट्रीय उपनिवेशवाद के खिलाफ तथा स्वदेशी की स्थापना के लिए संघर्ष कर रहे थे| वे भारत को पुर्नगुलामी से बचाना चाहते थे| वे उत्तर प्रदेश में अलीगढ़ जिले के नाह गाँव में जन्मे थे| उनकी प्रारम्भिक व माध्यमिक शिक्षा फ़िरोज़ाबाद में हुई उसके बाद 1994 में उच्च शिक्षा के लिए वे इलाहबाद गए| वे सेटेलाइट टेलेकम्युनिकेशन में उच्च शिक्षा प्राप्त करना चाहते थे लेकिन अपनी शिक्षा बीच में ही छोड़ कर देश को विदेशी कंपनियों की लूट से मुक्त कराने और भारत को स्वदेशी बनाने के आंदोलन में कूद पड़े| शुरू में भगतसिंह, उधमसिंह और चन्द्र शेखर आज़ाद जैसे महान क्रांतिकारियों से प्रभावित रहे| बाद में जब गांधीजी को पढ़ा तो उनसे भी प्रभावित हुए|

भारतकोस्वदेशीबनानेमेंउनकायोगदान

पिछले 20 वर्षों में राजीव भाई ने भारतीय इतिहास से जो कुछ सिखा उसके बारे में लोगों को जागृत किया| अंग्रेज़ भारत क्यों आए थे, उन्होने हमें गुलाम क्यों बनाया, अंग्रेजों ने भारतीय संस्कृति और सभ्यता, हमारी शिक्षा और उद्योगों को क्यों नष्ट किया, और किस तरह नष्ट किया इस पर विस्तार से जानकारी दी ताकि हम पुनः गुलाम न बन सकें| इन 20 वर्षों में राजीव भाई ने लगभग 15000 से अधिक व्याख्यान दिये जिनमे से कुछ हमारे पास उपलब्ध है| आज भारत में 5000 से अधिक विदेशी कंपनियाँ व्यापार करके हमें लूट रही है, उनके खिलाफ राजीव भाई ने स्वदेशी आंदोलन की शुरुआत की| देश में सबसे पहली स्वदेशी-विदेशी की सूची तैयार करके स्वदेशी अपनाने का आग्रह प्रस्तुत किया| 1991 में डंकल प्रस्तावों के खिलाफ घूम-घूम कर जन-जागृति की और रेलियाँ निकाली| कोका कोला और पेप्सी जैसे पेयों के खिलाफ अभियान चलाया और कानूनी कार्यवाही की|

1991-92 में राजस्थान के अलवर जिले में केडीया कंपनी के शराब कारखानों को बंद करवाने में भूमिका निभाई| 1995-96 में टिहरी बांध के खिलाफ ऐतिहासिक मोर्चा और संघर्ष किया जहां भयंकर लाठी चार्ज में काफी चोटें आई| उसके बाद 1997 में सेवाग्राम आश्रम, वर्धा में प्रख्यात गांधीवादी इतिहासकार श्री धर्मपाल जी के सानिध्य में अंग्रेजों के समय के ऐतिहासिक दस्तावेजों का अध्ययन करके देश को जागृत करने का काम किया| पिछले 10 वर्षों से परमपुज्य स्वामी रामदेव जी के संपर्क में रहने के बाद 9 जनवरी 2009 को परमपुज्य स्वामी रामदेव जी के नेतृत्व में भारत स्वाभिमान का जिम्मा अपने कंधों पर ले जाते हुए 30 नवम्बर 2010 को छत्तीसगढ़ के भिलाई शहर में भारत स्वाभिमान की रणभूमि में शहीद हुए|

राजीवभाईकेनाम ‘ राजीवभवन ’

वे सच्चे अर्थों में गांधीवादी थे. उन्होंने मरते दम तक बिना अहंकार, स्वार्थ और स्व लाभ के देश और इसके निवासियों कि सेवा करते हुए अपना जीवन अर्पण कर दिया. उनके अंतिम संस्कार के समय परम पूजनीय स्वामी रामदेव जी ने घोषणा की है कि उनके जन्म दिन ३० नवम्बर को स्वदेशी दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाएगा. साथ ही पतंजलि योगपीठ हरिद्वार में बन रहे भारत स्वाभिमान भवन का नाम "राजीव भवन" रखा जाएगा.

राजीवभाईकोसच्चीश्रद्धांजलि

हालांकि वे अब हमारे बीच नहीं रहे, परन्तु उनका जीवन ही हमारे लिए प्रेरणा बनकर राह दिखाता रहेगा । हमें उनके द्वारा देखे गए स्वप्न के अनुरूप भारत का निर्माण करना है । इसके लिए हमें भारत स्वाभिमान आन्दोलन को और तीव्रता देनी होगी । आज हम संकल्प ले की विदेशी वस्तुओ को त्याग कर स्वदेशी वस्तुओ और स्वदेशी कंपनियो को बढावा देगे.

After more than six decades of independence, India is decaying into a country of perpetual deficits. Budget deficit, governance deficit, moral & ethical deficits, courage deficit, societal concern deficit, patriotism deficit, law & order deficit, the list is endless. A ‘great democracy’ with freedom to speak and act without responsibility and accountability. A country with a ‘glorious past’ and ‘bright future’ with nothing to boast of the ‘present’. Citizens are turning cynical of the country’s future. The following steps with emphasis on nation building deserve attention:

1. Educated youth to take up politics in larger numbers.
2. Amend Constitution to restrict democratic polity to two or a maximum of three national Parties to contest elections.
3. Reform judiciary to make it guardian of society and empower it to deal with issues of corruption, injustice to women & children, and anti-national activities on a different footing with a mandatory time limit of 6 months for disposal.
4. Provide autonomy to National Institutions of governance.
5. Reform education and agricultural sector.
6. Introduce laws to strictly bar anyone with criminal background to represent society in any form.
7. Simplify tax laws and bring tax-evaders and corporate fraudsters under anti-national category for prosecution.
8. Educate masses to believe in creation and distribution of wealth for betterment of society instead of the outdated philosophy of equality through distribution of poverty. Encourage entrepreneurship by enacting suitable laws.
9. Teach children the value of freedom and dignity.

With a few exceptions, politicians in general want a loose system with loopholes in order to feast on society rather than serving it. People have to ‘awake & arise’ once again to save the nation from further decay. It is a pity that despite enormous resources and abundant talent, India’s progress is so meagre and dismal.
